Who we are

Unfaded is a New Zealand business providing digital photo restoration and printing services. These terms apply to every order placed with us.

Your images and your rights to them

By sending us an image you confirm that you own it, or that you have the right to have it reproduced and restored. We do not restore images that infringe someone else's copyright, and we do not restore unlawful material. If we believe an image falls into either category we will cancel the order and refund you.

What we do with your images

We use your images only to produce the restoration you have paid for. We do not sell them, license them or share them. We do not publish them or use them in any advertising unless you have given us permission in writing, and saying no changes nothing about your order. We delete uploaded images and finished files 90 days after delivery unless you ask us to hold them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time by emailing hello@unfaded.co.nz.

How the work is done

Restorations are produced using AI tools and checked by a person before delivery. We are open about this because it is the reason we can charge $39 for something a studio charges hundreds for.

Turnaround

Our 24 hour turnaround on digital restorations is a target we meet in the great majority of cases. It is measured from when your image reaches us, not from when you place the order. Very heavily damaged images occasionally take longer, and we will tell you if yours is one of them.

What we cannot do

We cannot reconstruct a face that is entirely missing from the original. We can repair damage around a face and rebuild partial damage, but we will not generate a person we cannot see. If your image is beyond what we can do honestly, we will tell you and refund you before we start.

Pricing and payment

All prices are in New Zealand dollars. We are not currently registered for GST, so no GST is charged on our prices.

Our refund policy forms part of these terms.

Your statutory rights

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.

Governing law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
