How we get the colours right

We ask you. Before we start, we send you a short list of questions. Hair, eyes, the dress, the car, the front door. Anything you know, we use. Anything you do not, we make a careful period-accurate choice and flag it so you can correct us.

This is interpretation, not recovery. The colour information is not in a black and white negative and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What we produce is a considered, historically plausible version, built with whatever you remember.
